River trail

River tail trust is spooked by health and safety new rules.

Addressing full council it was pointed out that $250,000 per year

120% increase in traffic fatalities in South Waikato from 2014 to 2015

Report requested from Chairperson Jenny Shattock Community and Assets Committee on speed bumps.

Ted Anderson said "sometimes speed bumps do not have desired results"

This outcome is amplified by increased speed.

The faster a car hits the speed bumps the more 1/2 Mass * Velocity * Velocity

A 0.25m elevation of a one tonne car imparts energy into the car springs in the following way.

O.25 * 1000 kg * 0 * 0 = 0

O.25m * 1000 kg * 1 m/s * 1 m/s = 250 m*kg/s*2

O.25m * 1000 kg * 2 m/s * 2 m/s = 1000 m*kg/s*2

O.25m * 1000 kg * 4 m/s * 4 m/s = 4,000 m*kg/s*2

O.25m * 1000 kg * 16 m/s * 16 m/s = 64,000m*kg/s*2

Te waihou streams composting toilets cost $5,000 and unable to digest use age

Council has a traffic problem as 100 km/hr road has people stopping dead to release them selves in the composting toilet.

Council has set a high Bar for attracting customers but now the car park is full.

Cr Shattock chairing the meeting suggests a pad car park replace the free council provided one and let the farmer make the money.

The composting toilets need time to digest the avalanche of new visitors as bus loads and cars stop to see the trail.

If the composting process does not work then we get backing up.

Seven trees to be cut down on park

A slip of the corporate return key has a fascist take over of our parks by those wanted to sell parks.

Chaired by Cn Shattock

Seven trees will need to be removed. Used temper for timber in talking poles. Rest lions firewood. Says CEO Hobbs.

$950,000 project over three year. 6 or 12 to be built quotes are coming in says Ben Smit CFO.

Need to look at extra land. Buy derelict homes and build three units for the old. Continued Ben Smit. Cheer from Council Gash.

Moved by cr Lee and seconded by cr McGill.

The elderly are the voters of council and so this is in the lead up to the Council Elections in October 2016.

But raise the idea of 18,000 new sections for free hold use to attract 6,000 18-35 year olds to the district and 12,000 sections for 18-65 year olds current residents in South Waikato and Council CEO terms this time wasting?

Media desk sign removed and council took a table away. Good for democracy?

At council full meeting, open to the public, 9am on 21 Jan 2016 in Tokoroa Chambers, the staff, under orders from CEO Hobbs and Mayor Sinclair, began rearranging chairs in the chambers from out under members of the public attending. What is going on?

The media sign from the media desk is gone and replaced with "South Waikato News" and CEO apologised to full council for his loss of Temper in the chambers before the meeting started.

When asked CEO lost his temper in public forum about council policy on "accredited media" and not having one in his words. However changes are cited as coming from complaints from South Waikato News reporter.

When asked if 3 unused tables and 4 unused chairs could be used by the public and media to put papers and and make notes it declined by CEO with council staff been requested to man handle any furniture back into position if moved by the public.

Mayor Sinclair was asked as to why the media table had been reduced by 50%. He asked that an apology to the CEO was given before he spoke. When Mayor was told the CEO was interrupting the Mayor communicating with the public the CEO kept talking over the top of those conversations and CEO latter apologised for his loss of temper in this incident.

Audio and video of CEO apology and further rant on time wasters who have taken complaints to the Ombudsman Office for council beaches of the Official Information Act is available for reader to consult and make their own opinion.
