South Waikato 2016 Election special 31 Days to go till close of polls

Profile lime on another Mayoral candidates and three ward councillors.

First up Alan BLAIR. Council is about swimming pools and libraries. Clean safe water and a well informed and educated community. Rubbish collection, graffiti removal, and pot holes comes later in Wacka mole. The perceptions of the district come from how developments ate the airport are portrayed on line to the world. We still have the sigh of the poor in the midnight hour. 2016-46years=1970 when Alan came to town. 1953/54 the mill built and running. That's 27 years or a generation after Tokoroa was up and running.

Alan was invited to a cultural festival at the Plaza Thearter all of Saturday 3rd of Septermber 2016. The only mayoral candidate that was seen that day was Alan. Who was not seen was Jarrad, Tracey or Jenny.
Alan's host were sitting to his left in a all day pack threaten from 9am-5pm.

Alan was sitting just above the left edge of the computer screen in front of the rail.

Wave after wave of parent, supporter and family came in as 25 or so acts came a cross stage.

As the doors closed to one act performance the audience built up behind take doors for the influx to the next act.

A thank you award flowed the last act for a committee member Jarrad Boone (not pictured) after the las act and before the closing prayer. Alan Balir stood respectfully for the final Prayer.

The curtain closing in the final.

The day was a great mx of the young and the old all day. People included those just walking at each end of of the age spectrum.

So who of the candidates reining for the ward did I see there?

Kim EGERTON was also there and said hello. One of the most experience candidates on council core bisness of infrastructure.

And Vivian RIKONA was also able to make eye contact as Vivian attended. And between here and Kim EGERTON along side Alan BLAIR makes a great Tirau Deputy Mayor debating team with well trained mines, mature experience, recognised ability, selfless devotion and unquestioned loyalty.

Keith SILVEIRA, was there if I am not mistaken. (Keith get your email corrected at the returning officer gave me a contact that does not work)

And I think I saw Amy ULUAVE. (Apologies if you attended as one of the 28 ward candidates and you did not catch my eye. Only Kim stopped to say hello)

So a Tirau Debate team with Alan BLAIR as Mayoral Candidate, Vivian RAKONA, Keith SILVEIRA, Amy ULUAVE, Kim EGERTON. A formidable five deputy Mayor options.

So for the second Tirau Hall Debate we could have two Mayoral Cadidares with Tracey DEANE and Alan BLAIR leading a good crop of Ward Candidates. Early and well was the theme of the Tirau Hall debates.

Alan Blair technically did not decline the debates her just shot the messenger down.

So from a strong showing in the news paper with the strongest quote, now a car that is smart (all electric and when I said it was a "green" car Alan had to think about that for a while), posters that seem to be a target for removal by vandals (who leave the other posters up), and name it with hand up to be picked. So Alan rejigs the Mayorsl Debate line up in the Tirau Hall.

1. Tracey Deane
2. Alan Blair
3. Jarrad Gallagher
4. Jenny Shattock (first to decline before anyone. Jarrad at least delayed his decline longer than Jenny)

So well done Alan Blair for your attendance and it seems being invited and treated like a Mayoral candidate. My question goes out to Jarrad, Tracey and Jenny as to knowing about this function.

Thanks to all that participated in a fine community event. It is going to two yearly I am told.

A post script for Murry Robson, who did not attend, was that some in the community were not happy at how sick leave was being used to retire early from school. I mention it here as it goes to word on the street "just saying" as feedback to standing as a candidate. At election time a buzz always happens as people do not win elections but elections are lost. And so with 28 names for 10 places we see numbers quickly crossed off as people priorities verious factors.

What are your key factors in assessing the character of a person?

Also all 28 candidates have been asked to email so if you have not as yet it is time to put your toe in the water.

You should know the temperature is right for a debate for social media.

If you are part of the Tirau Ward Community Board and Ward Candidates standing you now know that the debates are on and so will have the South Waikato community looking your way to host this new debates in the Tirau Hall three times. So that starts off the preparation.

1. Tirau Hall availability needs to be emailed in.
2. A list of light refreshment considered as a morning debate will need a good stiff coffee
3. How to inform the public of the debates so the farmers can attend
4. What social media platforms do you have for Tirau promotion also needs to be emailed in.

One of you will be Tirau Ward Councilor and some of you will be Community Board Members. We in the district traveled to support you keeping your community board and spoke at your public meeting and even developed a YouTube channel to support you so now is your time to shine.

Here is the link to your debates in the hall on keeping within South Waikato the special flavior of Tirau.
