South Waikato 2016 Election special 32 Days to go till close of polls

Monday morning up with the lark. We have our debate walk in the park. Deputy mayor and Mayoral contenders have made a part. It's now time to show a new team to start.

Who were the two Candiates that stepped up. More on that latter. But first let's meet the Tirau Debate organiser.

Audience of contestants some from Oxford, Harvard, Prinston, Yale universities included to watch the final of the Debate contest. A Scottish University won in 1992 at World's University Debating Championship At Trinity Colledge Dublin Ireland.
Set up for Parlamentary debating style its four teams of two participants in parliminary rounds at the World's University Debating Championships 1992 Dublin Ireland.

A note on who the Presient of Island then was and her arc in history. Ref Wikipedia

"Mary Therese Winifred Robinson (née Bourke; IrishMáire Bean Mhic Róibín;[3] born 21 May 1944 in Ballina, County Mayo) served as the seventh, and first female, President of Ireland from 1990 to 1997, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, from 1997 to 2002. She first rose to prominence as an academic, barrister, campaigner and member of the Irish Senate (1969–1989). She defeated Fianna Fáil's Brian Lenihan and Fine Gael's Austin Currie in the 1990 presidential electionbecoming–as an Independent candidate nominated by the Labour Party, the Workers' Party and independent senators–the first elected president in the office's history not to have had the support of Fianna Fáil.[4]
She is widely regarded as a transformative figure for Ireland, and for the Irish presidency, revitalising and liberalising a previously conservative, low-profile political office. She resigned the presidency two months ahead of the end of her term of office to take up her post in the United Nations. During her UN tenure she visited Tibet (1998), the first High Commissioner to do so; she criticised Ireland's immigrant policy; and criticised the use of capital punishment in the United States. She extended her intended single four-year term by a year to preside over the World Conference against Racism 2001 in Durban, South Africa; the conference proved controversial, and under continuing pressure from the US, Robinson resigned her post in September 2002."

Calling all Candiates to the Tirau Deputy Mayoral debates.

Well who stepped down first was Alan, then Jenny and then  Jarrad leaving the head and solders of Tracey Deane ready for a Mayoral Debate in Tirau Hall.

But we needed two mayoral candidates to have STV a list of 28 ward candidates for the Tirau Mayoral debates to initiate the process. But who did not turn up for training was Jenny, was Jarrad, was Alan. No shows. Training did not have the candidates who were running for Mayor of South Waikato. The coach was left without keen participants to make two teams and ready to go. But all good coaches builds a team with the members it has. So the Deputy Mayors were call upon to fill in for the lack of one Mayor.

So the debates have modified so it is now Deputy Mayor driven. And the debates have always been about the Deputy Mayor. So 28 ward councilor candidates were invited by email to STV anything and just contact a Mayoral candidate but email and get back to the organiser with something. Even this did not work.

The only lead that that the debate had was when a Mayoral candidate offer to teach debating.
First Order! I say in the Tirau Hall Deputy Mayor Debates. Who will feature in 2nd and 3rd?

And we have our break in the case. Stop go stop go stop go. A case hinged in this offer to debates.

To get matters movie and to take a Mayoral lead we had one candidates email the 28 ward candidates (except frank S. Email is bouncing back. Did the returning officer not check all emails were correct and being answered before publishing the email addresses?)

I offered myself also to tutor debating. I drew on my time as Judge at the World University Debating Championships for 10 days in Dublin Ireland at the 600 year old Trinty Colledge in 1992. (See photo record above)

Here is a picture of Mary Robinson President of Ireland inviting two people from each country to her reception lounge. I was their with the Right Honeralbe David Lange who was the head international adjudicators.

So now we have two people who have responded early and well and early and well is key to this debate as the Deputy Mayor appointment system is new.

And the first of 28 Ward Candiates to take up the invite for Debating tips was

So well done to you two. We have our debate team for the first Tirau Hall debate. These two will get to showcase their vision and support four the South Waikato District in the first of three Tirau Hall Deputy Mayor debates. The other candidates can now participate in the 2nd and third debates by following the email trail.
